This month’s feature focuses on the Jeremiah E. Burke High School.
Burke High School is located on Washington Street near the Grove Hall section of Dorchester. A huge “School on the Move” banner hangs from the front of the imposing building, which serves about five hundred students. It does indeed “take a village” to nurture successful students, and it’s heartening to see how the Jeremiah E. Burke High School has reached out to the community in their efforts to do so.
Visit the “We’re Learning Here” archive on our website to see some other schools up close and personal through the eyes of Amika Kemmler-Ernst, a recently retired BPS New Teacher Developer with extensive experience as a classroom teacher, curriculum developer, and graphic artist. The “We’re Learning Here” series features a slideshow of images of everyday learning in our public schools, along with the words of the students in the photographs.
