The BTU has no official position on PARCC per se, though we have long held a position decrying the growth of standardized testing, especially high stakes standardized testing. We also denounce the narrowing of the curriculum that comes with it.
The head of the Boston Renaissance Charter School, Roger Harris, a former administrator in the BPS, had something good to say last week in an op-ed in the Boston Globe about the need for a full curriculum.
Read Dr. Harris’ op-ed. (And ask yourself the following: Would any active principal in Boston publicly write the article that Dr. Harris wrote? The answer: no way!)
