Equity has always been a hallmark of the labor movement. And expanding equity is what the members of the Boston Teachers Union work so hard for — in our classrooms, throughout the city, and on the steps of the State House and beyond.
The Boston Teachers Union believes strongly in creating schools, a district, and a city where everyone is welcome. This ideal cannot come to pass without a fight every day to make our educational system equitable — for those of every background, gender, orientation, immigration status, or economic situation.
Unions are the voice of the people. And today, the BTU re-affirms its commitment to advocate and stand on behalf of our students, families, and community to create equity and opportunity.
Happy Labor Day!
