A message from the AFT:
“…We’ve created a robust survey to find out how work affects you, and to help make the case for a thorough scientific study. Please take our anonymous survey on how the conditions at work affect your life. By joining thousands of other educators and school staff, you’ll help us make the case for a major study on how working conditions affect the adults who power our schools.”
A message from BPS parents:
“BPS parents and school staff were startled to learn of major menu changes in the BPS meals program that began April 1. School lunch hot entrees choices are now largely limited to processed fast foods such as nuggets, burgers, steak and cheese subs, mac and cheese and pizza. These calorie dense and nutritive poor foods perpetuate food injustice by reducing the quality of food for the neediest students.
“We call on BPS to explore alternatives that would value our students, staff, and support healthy growth and food equality across the district while being financially viable and sustainable. Parents have made a petition to address this issue. If you would like to learn more or join the group, please contact Ann Eldridge Malone.”
