Apply to the BTU Committee on Political Education
Two seats have opened up on the BTU COPE committee. Please apply here by April 25 if you are interested in joining. Members meet to review and interview candidates seeking endorsement from the BTU and work with the President, Political Director and officers to create a political program for the BTU. All COPE members are appointed by the President and serve terms co-terminus with the President. The time commitment includes occasionally being released from school, monthly afternoon meetings, and occasional Saturday meetings.
Retirement Seminar: Thursday, March 29

SMART Plan Meetings: April 18 and May 7
Are you on track for retirement? The SMART Plan offers tax-advantaged savings to help you build a more secure retirement. Our SMART Plan Advisor, Marianne Cole, will be holding SMART Plan meetings on Wednesday, April 18 from 2-5 PM and Monday, May 7 from 1:30-5 PM at the BTU. All are welcome to make an appointment, whether currently participating in the SMART Plan or not.
For those participating in the plan, we are offering Retirement Readiness Reviews. As a Retirement Plan Advisor, Marianne is now able to provide more comprehensive overviews of participants’ financial pictures, and assist with a personalized savings and investment plan based on each individual’s unique goals.

NEW — Perrone-Sizer Institute for Creative Leadership Applications Open
Applications are now being accepted for the Perrone-Sizer Institute for Creative Leadership (PSi). Founded by veteran educators Linda Nathan and Carmen Torres, PSi is a leadership certificate program that develops creative, innovative, adaptive, and racial justice and equity-focused leaders. PSi can also lead to graduate credit from the UMass Boston. Learn more and apply.
Teacher Residency: National Museum of the American Indian
The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian has launched Native Knowledge 360°, a national initiative to promote improved teaching and learning about American Indians. Apply to their Teacher-in-Residence Program by March 30. Read more, and see the application.
