PDP Certificates: Need to be Issued by June 28
The contract requires that teachers receive a PDP certificate from their principal by the last day of school. Please be sure to remind your principal of this requirement now, so that he or she issues the certificate by June 28. If you have not received your certificate by the end of school, please file a grievance with your principal at that time, and cc your field representative.

NEW — Defending the Early Years’ New Mini-Documentary
Last week Defending the Early Years launched its second mini-documentary in the Teachers Speak Out series. In this two-minute documentary, Young Achievers preschool teacher Roberta Udoh explains how the obsession with testing has resulted in educational policies that lead to diminished play and exploration of self for children of color and poor children, and the devastating effects it has on the soul and psyche of this population of early learners. The Common Good Project invites Boston’s African American Community to participate in transforming the history of our trauma to a future of healing. New AFT Member Benefit: Identity Theft Protection
On July 1 the AFT will launch a new identity theft benefit for ALL active and retired members. They will offer two tiers of benefits: a series of free services available to ALL members upon registering, and a second tier that can be purchased. The latter is an additional tier of identity theft protections which provide active identity theft monitoring and unlimited restoration and recovery services. Stay tuned for specifics!
