Primary Race for Secretary/Treasurer and Paraprofessional/Substitute Field Rep
Ballots were mailed out April 3. If you did not receive a ballot, you can call the AAA hotline at 1-800-529-5218. If you choose to vote by mail, fill out the ballot as soon as possible and return in the envelope provided. Read directions on the ballot carefully. It is strongly suggested that you fill it out before it ends up at the bottom of a pile of bills. Ballots must be received at AAA in New York by April 30. In-person voting at the BTU will take place on May 3 from 6 AM to 8 PM. Bring a picture ID.
Due to an error by the Election Committee, the order on the ballot for the primary race for Secretary/Treasurer has been changed as follows:
- Karen Cross
- Elizabeth (Betsy) Drinan
- Charles Lucas
- Darren Wells
CANDIDATES NIGHT is tomorrow, Wednesday, April 12 following the union meeting at the BTU. ALL BTU MEMBERS are welcome to come hear directly from the candidates! All candidates for full time office (3 minutes) and executive board (2 minutes) are welcome to speak. Please RSVP to Ombudsman at email@example.com if you are planning to speak. Candidates may campaign before and after but not during the speakers.
The Election Committee page on the BTU website is now up and running. Check it out at btu.org/2017-election.
Please see the new breakdown and related prices for candidate mailing labels.
As an FYI — BTU policy prohibits the placing of election flyers et al at any official membership activity, such as tomorrow’s membership meeting. We also ask that candidates refrain from campaigning during the meeting or or handing out literature in the corridor leading to the Hall. Thank you.
