The BTU has three part-time positions to be filled by individuals who are appointed by the BTU president to terms coterminous with the term of the BTU president. These part-time positions, with salaries at approximately $19,000 apiece, are being posted, effective immediately for a term of two years. Seeking Two Co-Editors of the Boston Union Teacher
The two Co-Editors of the Boston Union Teacher are responsible for publishing and editing the monthly newspaper of the Boston Teachers Union. There are 10 monthly newspapers as well as a special opening-of-school year edition. Editors are required to be on duty from early August through the middle of July. Each editor earns a salary ofapproximately $19,000 per year.
Responsibilities include editing, reporting, and compiling the newspaper, soliciting articles, covering events, and related activities. Co-editors work as a team taking joint responsibility for the timely publication of the newspaper. Prior newspapers for review are available online.

Seeking Parent/Community Liaison
The Parent/Community Liaison works with our three organizers to promote and improve our relationships with schools and local communities. The person is expected to work after school hours and evenings in concert with our Director of Organizing and our Internal and External Organizer. The salary for this position is approximately $43,000 per year.
A specific duty of the parent/community liaison is to manage and coordinate the BTU Homework Helper program, which places a BTU teacher or staff member in our central and branch libraries on weekday nights. Budgeting and supervisory skills are a must for this position, which employs approximately 30 individuals with a budget of $75,000.
