Seeking: Breakfast After the Bell Focus Group Teacher Participants
BPS Food & Nutrition Services is working to expand access to breakfast for Boston students. They are interested in hearing from teachers as they prepare to roll out changes to the breakfast programs at a number of schools this year. They invite you to participate in a focus group to offer your input and your unique perspective. If you would be willing to join them for a conversation on this topic, please contact Laura Benavidez at email@example.com to sign up.
New DESE Licensure & Renewal Requirements
DESE updated the requirements for licensure and license renewal just a couple weeks ago, and the changes are significant. Read a summary of the changes (effective July 28, 2017). See the full, updated state laws.
A few of the changes: To renew a professional license, we now only need 15 PDPs in our content area, instead of 60 PDPs! They’ve also combined a lot of middle school and high school licenses, e.g. History (5-8) and History (8-12) used to be separate licenses, but now they’re just History (5-12).
Executive Coaching for Educators of Color
The deadlines for the BPS Male Educators of Color (MEOC) and the Women Educators of Color (WEOC) Executive Coaching Programs have been extended to October 9. The program is open to all educators of color in BPS (school-based or central office) with a minimum of three years employment. Get all application details.
