NEW- Support Woburn Educators-Congratulations on Reaching a TA!
You may have heard that educators in Woburn went on a five day strike, and have been charged over $40,000 in fines, plus $5,000 for every additional day of the strike. One way to support them is to donate to their strike fund. Check their Twitter, @WoburnTeachers, for the most up-to-date information and other ways to help.
NEW- Internship Program for Future Educators
Do you know anyone interested in becoming an educator? Buckingham Browne & Nichols, a nationally recognized B-12 independent school in Cambridge, MA is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month collaborative internship program between BB&N and Lesley University. It leads to a Massachusetts Initial Licensure and a Master’s Degree in education. Visionary Sports Academy is offering Positional Skills Clinics for student athletes at Kennedy Middle School in Waltham. The sessions cost $50, and you can sign up your student athlete online or in person.
Join at 7 p.m. by Zoom for Part 3 of Making the Invisible Visible: Asian Americans in Public Education. Session 3 will be “Do Schools and Educators Have the Will to Serve Asian Americans?: A Discussion of Proven Interventions and What is Needed to Initiate and Sustain Them.” Panelists in the final session will share some interventions that have been useful for promoting Asian American well-being.
