When does this year’s salary increase take place?
A 3% salary increase for all BTU members takes effect on November 1, but as our paycheck cycles vary by job category and within job category (whether or not we get paid over the summer), the timing of the pay raise differs and is as follows:
Teachers on the 22-paycheck cycle will see their raise in their fifth check, on November 7. It will be a partial raise as the pay cycle overlaps date of the raise. On November 21 the full 3% raise will be reflected and will continue through the end of the 22-paycheck cycle. Multiply the November 21 check by 22 and you will be able to match it with your full salary for this year.
Teachers on the 26-paycheck cycle will get their raise on their 6th check, on November 21. It will be a partial raise given the structure of the 26-paycheck cycle. OnDecember 5 the full 3% raise will be reflected and will continue through the rest of the 26-paycheck cycle.
Paras paid on a 22-paycheck cycle and 26- paycheck cycle 3% raise, will be seen in the paycheck on November 21 and will continue through the end of their respective cycles.
Substitutes will get paid at the new rate for all days worked after November 1. That raise will show up in the paycheck received onNovember 21.
