Dever-McCormack Seeks Part-Time Help for After-School Program
As you may know, as of Monday afternoon the Dever-McCormack elementary grades will officially be adding one hour per day of academic time, and under the agreement with BPS our teaching staff will work 50% of those hours. We are thrilled to have this time, but as of Wednesday, September 7, we will be faced with approximately 200 students without programming from 3:20 – 4:20 each day.We are looking for partner organizations or individuals (including retired teachers) able to provide outstanding services in two areas:
* Enrichment (performing arts, visual arts, hands-on science, student leadership, community service, athletics, strategy games)
* Academic acceleration (academic clubs, math and reading tutoring, book clubs, science olympiad, etc)
* We are on a very short timeline, and this is a great opportunity for partner organizations to get in on the ground floor of our experiment.
