Hiring: Administrative Assistant
Long-time BTU Administrative Assistant Patty O’Donnell is retiring at the end of April. We truly thank Patty for her years of service and dedication to the union. We will all miss her but wish her the best as she embarks on new adventures in retirement! Please see our Administrative Assistant job posting. We hope to hire someone by the end of April.
BTU Election Update
The signature validation process has been completed, and candidates who qualified for the ballot have been notified. Due to the number of candidates for each office there will be no primary election this year. See the complete list of candidates. Thanks to all who participated! Voting will begin in early May, when all members will receive their mail-in ballots. In-person voting will be held on June 5. An “Election Procedures Candidate’s Guide” is available on the member portal. An opportunity for candidates to address the membership in a public forum is being scheduled. See Election Committee information.
Paraprofessional Transfer Pool Now Open
The Transfer Pool for Paraprofessionals will run until April 12. You must have at least 206 seniority days to apply. You can apply to up to five jobs, but jobs are not guaranteed. Please see this flyer for more.

Sumner teacher Tracy Freeman will be running the Boston Marathon with her husband in honor of their son Aidan and all children with Rett Syndrome. Please consider donating.

Debra Price is a Resource Room K-5 teacher and Building Rep at the Dever and she will be participating in her 18th Walk for Hunger, sponsored by Project Bread, on May 7. Please consider donating to support hungry families.
NEW — Vicky Magaletta’s Retirement Party: Celebrate Vicky Magaletta on May 23 from 5-9 PM at Venezia Restaurant in Boston. The cost is $65 per person, and in lieu of a gift, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in the name of Elio Magaletta. RSVP by May 1 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
