The BPS has sent out 21 layoff notices to permanent teachers and support staff. Twelve of the teachers who received notices are computer teachers; seven have fallback rights to BTU teaching positions, and five do not. The senior computer teacher on layoff began in 2000.
Seven Student Support Coordinators were sent notices, and three have fallback rights. The senior member of the four who got layoff notices began in 1995. One business teacher, who began in 2005, was also sent a layoff notice, as was one clip clinical coordinator, who begin in 2006.
The BTU will be meeting on Monday, June 13 @ 4:30 at the BTU with the group of noticed teachers, along with our attorney.
