Our two PAR Consulting Teachers, Lauren Clarke-Mason and Mark Lonergan, are pleased to announce the following:
Don’t go it alone. There are resources available to you to help you meet your goals.
Faculty Senate: If your school has a faculty senate, we would love to come share information about evaluation support options that are available for BPS members. Please contact Lauren Clarke-Mason to set up a time for us to come to your meeting.
Peer Assistants (PA): The Peer Assistants are veteran Boston Teachers who provide support and coaching to teachers who may be struggling with aspects of their practice. Since 2007, the knowledgeable and supportive Peer Assistants have been working with teachers in their classrooms to provide confidential and informative help with prescriptions from a formal evaluation or with an aspect of their practice a teacher may want to refine or improve. To find more about the Peer Assistance program please check out the BTU website and sign up for a Peer Assistant by visiting “My Learning Plan” and clicking on “Forms.”
Peer Assistance and Review (PAR): The Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Program is another unique opportunity for teacher support in the Boston Public Schools. Since its inception in Boston in 2014, PAR is available for those eligible teachers who may be struggling with their practice and would benefit from the guidance of a veteran Boston teacher. All coaching, observations and evaluations would be performed by the veteran Consulting Teachers instead of an administrator. To find more about how PAR can benefit you and your practice, please check the website at bostonpar.wordpress.com.
