The memo below is from the school district with the endorsement of the BTU.
Every few years or so, the sick leave bank needs days added to replenish it, along the lines of any voluntary insurance policy. The bank currently needs an infusion of days. The last time members were asked to contribute a day was at least 15 years ago. Your contribution this time will allow you to participate until the sick leave bank is exhausted.
Here’s the memo:
After a recent assessment of the Boston Teachers Union Sick Bank, it has been determined that the balances have fallen below the minimum requirement and will need to be replenished. As a result, all BTU sick bank members must donate one additional day in order to remain in the program.
Please see below for important information regarding the enrollment process:
If you are currently a member of the BTU sick bank or interested in enrolling as a new member, please confirm your decision by donating a day using this form.
If you joined as a new member in May of 2015 for the current school year and met all enrollment requirements for entry, you are not required to complete the above application form.
Please note that if you choose to not donate a day by way of the above Google form, you will no longer be considered a member of the BTU sick leave donation program.
The above form must be completed by close of business on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. Late applications will not be considered due to processing deadlines.
