Professional Learning Advisory Board: Creating a Sustainable System of Educator-Led PD
This month’s Professional Learning Advisory Board meeting will focus on creating a sustainable model of teacher-led professional learning. Brief presentations from several models in use around BPS will be followed by work time on projects including planning a BTU EdCamp this school year. Momentum is building for this project, and we welcome your voice. Monday, November 13 from 4:30-7:30 PM. RSVP to Paul so we can plan for dinner.

Google Basics PD Starts this Week!
Learn the fundamentals of the Google tools offered to BPS educators and how to use them effectively with your students in the classroom. Course sites throughout Boston neighborhoods at various times/days after school in November. Choose the session closest to you or the most convenient and join us to learn new engaging ways to utilize technology in your classroom. Please bring your L4L or other device. Register today. Fund for Teachers Info Sessions Begin November 16
Applications are now open for BPS teachers and teachers in Boston charter schools for grants of $5,000 (individuals) or $10,000 (teams) to design professional learning experiences that inspire and sustain them as people and professionals. Our first informational session for those interested in applying to Fund for Teachers will be held Thursday, November 16 from 4:30-6 PM at McKinley South End Academy (parking in lot off Dartmouth St.). BTU Informational Workshop on Teacher Licensure: November 16
DESE has recently changed its regulations covering the Provisional License (formerly Preliminary License) and the Initial License. This workshop will provide information about types of teacher licenses, changes in licensure regulations, and the process for applying for and reviewing teacher licenses. Open to Paraprofessionals, Substitute Teachers seeking a first license or teachers seeking to advance or add licenses. Read more and register. Thursday, November 16 from 4:30-6:30 PM at the BTU.

National Board Summit: November 20
Join NBCTs and candidates from across the district to learn about and give feedback on our emerging new model for candidate support and contribute to plans to build and celebrate our National Board network of teachers. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
