This teacher-powered professional learning series features leadership development courses that were developed by BPS teacher leaders, for BPS teacher leaders. This winter they offer two courses:
- Using Data, Mondays at the Mary Lyon Pilot High School in Brighton, starting February 3
- Supporting Instruction, Thursdays at the Roosevelt K-8 School in Hyde Park, starting February 6
All courses involve eight evening sessions from 4:30-7:30pm and three Saturday sessions from 8:30am-12:30pm.
The course registration fee is $1,000, and graduate credit options are available via Cambridge College ($150) and UMass Boston ($500). (Note that BTU members at step 9 or under, who are not yet receiving their first career award, can have the $1,000 reimbursed under certain conditions. See here. Teachers over step 9 might consider approaching their principals or network superintendents for financial support.)
