Joyful Learning Symposium: May 30
Everyone is welcome from 4:30-7:30pm at the Dearborn STEM Academy to Celebrate Teaching and Learning in 2018-2019. The Telescope Network and BTR are co-hosting. It’s a chance to gather for food and fun and to celebrate teachers and teaching across BPS. Read the flyer and RSVP!

Student Feedback Working Group — Seeking Elementary and Special Education Teachers
The BTU seeks three teachers to serve on a working group on Student Feedback in the evaluation system. The group, composed of students, teachers, and BPS administrators will review the first year of implementation, recommend improvements, and plan professional development to support the process in the future. Meetings will be held on Monday evenings (June 10; future meetings TBD). Please email ptritter@btu.org if you are interested.

BPS Teaching Fellowship
As a homegrown pipeline program, the BPS Teaching Fellowship supports the recruitment of new teachers and the retention of BPS Prov 2 & 3 novice teachers. Over the course of SY19-20, BPS Teaching Fellows will receive MTEL preparation, instructional coaching, and aligned coursework. Upon completion, fellows earn their initial license in Special Education (Moderate Disabilities) or in English as a Second Language (either of these is available with the option of dual licensure in Elementary). Apply or email bpsteachingfellowship@bostonpublicschools.org for additional information.

NEW – Summer Pathways Programs
The Summer Pathway Programs for Severe and Moderate Disabilities and for ESL licensure will be held in July and are posted on My Learning Plan. Interested BPS staff need to register for the application process on My Learning Plan. Are you a BPS teacher who teaches Boston history or contemporary issues in Boston at the middle or high school level? Do you engage your students in project-based learning connected to Boston neighborhoods or social justice issues? Apply to join a 2-day working session to connect to the work of the Leventhal & Education Center’s “Maptivists” program. Participating teachers earn a $500 honorarium.
