Executive Board Endorses a Collaborative Approach to PD
The BTU Executive Board has unanimously endorsed this draft of a Theory of Action for Improving Professional Learning in BPS. This has been created through the BTU’s participation, along with representatives of the BPS Central Office and the Boston School Committee, in the District Capacity Project, a statewide initiative to improve labor management relations in order to improve student learning. This document is not a concrete plan, but a statement of our shared belief of the challenges we face and the collaborative labor-management approach that would allow us to address them. Learn About the New BPS Performance Meter
As part of the 100 Day Plan, the superintendent charged a group with developing a performance meter that would allow review of key metrics associated with school improvement. These metrics, aligned to the School Quality Framework, will provide ways to monitor school progress, identify and differentiate actionable school supports, and pinpoint system-level barriers that hinder school progress. To learn more about the Performance Meter, give feedback on its development, and to learn about what key metrics it will measure, please join us on Monday, March 21 from 4:30-6 PM at the Bolling Building (room TBD).
