‘Dozens of parents, educators and even students spoke out at Boston City Hall Tuesday over a proposed budget that they fear could harm Boston Public Schools.
Teachers and parents fear cuts could mean the firing of not just teachers but crucial support staff, librarians, and school social workers.
“My students and my families are definitely going to feel my loss.”
Phyllis Leslie is a social worker with the Henderson Inclusion School. Her job could be one of hundreds the Boston Teachers Union is claiming could be cut.
“I’m also the homeless liaison so if you take that role out of the schools I mean who is going to take care of my babies?” Leslie said.’
