Puma Hoops partnered with the BivFam Foundation, founded by Roxbury native and music legend Michael Bivins and his wife, Teasha, to donate $15,000 toward athletics at BPS schools. The BivFam foundation also presented an additional $15,000 donation to BPS athletics and Puma in return presented the BivFam foundation with a $10,000 donation as well.

“We just wanted to make sure that they had it to show them that we care,” Michael Bivins, a founding member of famed hip-hop groups New Edition and Bell Biv DeVoe told the Herald. Teasha Bivins said she and her husband first started the foundation to help kids with different skill sets beyond the classroom, such as financial literacy.

“We wanted to help them with things you don’t learn in school, like real estate, and how important credit is,” she said. “…We want to help kids keep all of their personal affairs together so that they get to the ultimate goal in life which is to be financially stable and able to raise a family.”
