LGBTQA Committee Student Art Contest
The LGBTQA Committee of the BTU will be holding an art contest for all BPS students in three categories: elementary, middle and high school. The object of the art contest is to design a logo or image that will be used in print and online formats for Safe Space Providers on behalf of the LGBTQA committee of the BTU. The logo must depict an image or theme that expresses a culture of welcoming, inclusiveness, positivity, acceptance, love, togetherness, friendship, peace etc. The artwork must also contain the words “Safe Space Provider.” One student’s piece will be selected from each category and will be awarded with a $100 Visa gift card. Please share this flyer and entry form with all interested students.

Boston Education Justice Alliance: Budget Cut Organizing and More!
Concerned about budget cuts? Want to get involved in a community coalition of students, parents, educators fighting for public education? Stay involved with BEJA’s organizing efforts as we continue to advocate for the “Schools Our Students Deserve” following the very successful Town Hall at Madison Park two weeks ago. The next meeting is Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 6-8pm, location TBD.

Workshops will cover topics including educational policy, enforcing the contract at traditional and non-traditional schools, organizing for school improvement, understanding school budgets, and more. The conference will also include a morning plenary on important topics such as the Friedrichs case, charter ballot initiative, the budget, and Boston Compact/Unified Enrollment.
