Dear BTU Volunteers,

Thank you for your incredibly quick responses yesterday. The BTU Volunteer Corps is 900 strong and growing. Each of you is an important part of this community.
Here are today’s opportunities:
  • In-person: Support BPS Food and Nutrition Services sites around the city with food distribution next week. They are looking for three volunteers per site per day. Sign up for shifts here.
  • Virtual: Mass Families Organizing for Change is matching educators with families looking for a phone call, google hang out, zoom call or a video chat to better support their children with disabilities. Sign up here. Encourage families of students with disabilities to sign up to be matched with an educator at this link. Shout-out to BTU member Emma Fialka-Feldman for coordinating!
  • Virtual: Keep calling Governor Baker to ask him to protect our families from eviction. (Over 20 BTU members called yesterday!). Contact Governor Baker (617-725-4005, or email) to express your support for HD. 4935, calling for a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures. Let us know after you call so we can track how many people took action.
Please know that all activities are purely voluntary and could entail risk. Maintain social distancing and follow public health guidelines as much as possible. Most importantly, if you fall into one of the at-risk categories i.e. older or with compromised/chronic health conditions it is critical that you maintain your own health first and contact your medical care provider for guidance if there are any questions at all about your participation in these activities.
Yours,
Ari + the team
