Momentum continues to build around the state for fully funded public education. Thousands of people from all corners of Massachusetts gathered at the Boston Common and the State House this past Thursday to tell our legislators to pass the PROMISE and CHERISH Acts. This week, our legislators are in session and need to hear from you TODAY! Please take 30 seconds to write your legislators and ask for their support and co-sponsorships of the Promise Act, Cherish Acts, and fully funding of charter reimbursements.
Finally, BTU supports college students in their fight against student debt. Students with the Public Higher Education Network of Massachusetts (PHENOM), the Center for Education Policy & Advocacy (CEPA), and the Student Government Association (SGA) at UMass Amherst. They are sitting in at the State House every day this week until their demands, that Senate President Spilka and House Speaker DeLeo bring the Debt Free Future Act to a vote, calling for action on the student debt crisis.
