Exploring AI in K-12 Education: Winter 2026 Session
Designed for educators and staff, this course builds essential AI literacy while guiding participants to identify and address a specific problem of practice that generative AI tools could help solve. Through hands-on activities and discussions, participants will learn how AI technologies work and explore how BPS-approved generative AI applications like Gemini and Solara could be used purposefully for instructional and professional practice. The course will model best practices and cover ethical considerations such as bias, data privacy, and environmental concerns. Participants will gain the knowledge needed to work with their students or colleagues to better understand the role of AI in their daily lives.

SLIFE Educators Day of Learning: January 16, 2026; 9AM-3PM
Are you or your team looking to strengthen your practice in supporting SLIFE students? The Office of Multilingual & Multicultural Learning and The Telescope Network are hosting a Day of Learning for BPS educators and coaches serving SLIFE learners.
We’ll explore instructional moves, resources, and routines that help teachers build academic language, provide access to grade-level content, and support students’ foundational skills. The session will feature BPS educators sharing high-impact planning and teaching strategies that teachers can use to improve learning outcomes for SLIFE students.

Addressing Knowledge Gaps in Secondary Math (Connect & Share)
Are you a secondary math or AP STEM teacher puzzling through how to balance your course curriculum requirements with the need to build students’ foundational skills? Join the BPS/BTU Telescope Network for a Connect & Share to collaborate with BPS secondary math colleagues on this topic. We will discuss how to cover grade-level content while catching students up on missing skills. This session will feature presentations on best practices from three secondary and AP math teachers from across BPS.
