At one school in Massachusetts, one in every three students received an out-of-school suspension last year. City on a Hill, a charter school in New Bedford, gave out-of-school suspensions to 37.9 percent of their students during the 2015-2016 school year. Just over 14 percent of students received at least one in-school suspension and one student was expelled.
