Changes at Two Boston Schools

The state has recently declared the Mattahunt a Turnaround (Level 4) School along the same lines as it had previously chosen 11 Boston schools for similar status. Turnaround Schools work under an agreement that differs from the standard BTU-BPS contract.

Yesterday staff and parents at the Marshall School were told that UP Academy would be taking over and running the school as an in-district Horace Mann Charter School. The choice of the Marshall was made unilaterally by the superintendent without any process and without input from the Marshall school community. See Globe report.
