Please join us at the BTU for High School Redesign in Boston this Thursday, November 19 from 6-8 PM.At this event, hosted by the BTU and facilitated by BPS Superintendent Dr. Tommy Chang and City Education Chief Turahn Dorsey, BTU members will participate in design thinking workshops to contribute their professional perspective on high schools of the future.
Our thoughts, ideas, and opinions will be added to the growing body of information collected in Boston as a part of the high school redesign process. Members will also have the opportunity to engage with and reflect on themes that have emerged to date through 28 forums at schools, community meetings and student gatherings attended by over 1,800 stakeholders.
The event is open to all, but please RSVP for planning purposes.
We also received this memo from the Planning Team:
On behalf of the High School Redesign (#HSReD) Planning Team, I’m writing to provide an update on the next phase of HSReD work + invite you to participate in HSReD Design Sprint/s at Madison Park.
- Will focus on validating emerging principles + applying them to the revision of the Madison Park’s Innovation Plan per Dr. Chang’s 100-Day Plan
- Will provide opportunity for shared learning + capacity building that will benefit all BPS high schools.
The first Design Sprint will take place this Thursday 11/19 from 12-1:30 PM. These sessions will help HSReD ideate around specific topics, and in each Sprint we will use the emerging HSReD Design Principles to help us answer key questions on the following HSReD themes: Partnerships, Programming, Tech/Infrastructure, and Student Experience. Please RSVP here.
