Boston City Council Budget Hearings
Budget hearings are underway at the Boston City Council. As a third of the proposed budget is allocated to the Boston Public Schools, many of the hearings, beginning with this afternoon, are dedicated to the school budget. View the hearing schedule.

Unafraid Educators Week of Action: April 29-May 3
Join us in our annual Week of Action to show your support for immigrant and undocumented students and families across Boston and beyond. RSVP on Facebook and fill out our commitment form to register your support and join our listserv. Actions include an Unafraid Educator photo day on April 30 and a call-in day on May 2 to support in-state tuition for undocumented students. Intelligent Lives Film Screening: April 30
Join BPS students, families, and educators at the BTU from 5-7 PM for a screening and discussion of Intelligent Lives! The film stars three pioneering young adults with intellectual disabilities including Naieer, a BPS student. These students challenge perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. Join the conversation with Dr. Bill Henderson, inclusion pioneer for the BPS, about how we can all work towards creating schools and communities where the contributions of all are valued! Please RSVP! Women’s Rights Committee Meeting: May 1
Please join the Women’s Rights Committee at 4 PM at the BTU Hall to help us identify
community heroes in Greater Boston who champion women’s rights. The BTU Glass Ceiling Award is awarded annually at our fun and delicious BTU Women’s Rights Breakfast, the only one of its kind in Boston.

Submit your Curriculum Resources for the Ethnic Studies Archive
We are gathering Ethnic Studies lessons, unit plans, student work, and curriculum from teachers across BPS. If you have curriculum that you have created/modified from existing resources, or you know of existing curriculum that might fall within the purview of ethnic studies, please feel free to submit by May 4!
