The BTU and representatives for the district met for the 17th contract bargaining session on August 21st. Due to the BTU’s persistence, the district for the first time engaged in a negotiation regarding one of the BTU’s primary priorities: ending the practice of forcing general education teachers to obtain specialized licenses so that they provide the labor of multiple educators simultaneously just to ensure students with the highest needs are receiving the services they deserve and are legally entitled to.
