The Boston Teachers Union is pleased that the School Committee has approved a contract which will provide numerous additional resources to students, including a full-time nurse in every school, additional licensed mental health professionals, increased pay equity for some of our lowest paid educators, and added investment from the City of Boston to fight student homelessness. We are grateful for the opportunity to shift our attention to longer-term needs for our district’s schools, including inclusion done right in every classroom. We are eager to begin that work with Mayor Walsh and new Superintendent Cassellius.
