High school students became civics teachers last week as hundreds marched up Beacon Hill shouting, “This is what democracy looks like!” They rallied in the State House’s biggest auditorium and trooped through the halls, finding their legislators and demanding that they support stronger gun control laws. Evelyn Reyes was one of several Boston students who led the rally in Gardner Auditorium. Her speech got a standing ovation. Watch her on YoutubeHere’s what she said:

My name is Evelyn Reyes. I am 16, a sophomore at the John D. O’Bryant. I live in Roxbury, and I work with the Boston Student Advisory Council as well as Youth on Board.
