BPS officials are apparently backing away from a key promise made last year to parents of children with autism and other serious disabilities when the School Committee voted to close the West Roxbury Education Complex.

At the time, Interim Superintendent Laura Perille seemed to promise that the students could transfer to new schools together with their teachers and other staff, although that promise was never quite ironclad.

Now, officials are refusing to reaffirm it.
