On salary they first proposed a salary increase of 1%, 0%, 2%, and 2% for each of schools years beginning with 2010-2011, going forward, and with each salary increase to take place mid-year. They made us this offer in January 2011. Their salary offer hasn’t changed since that day.

On the length of the school day the district’s position has been all over the place. At first the district asked us for an hour without pay. Then 30 minutes. At one point the district wanted 30 minutes unpaid, then 3 hours paid. Frankly, their team appears to not know what it wants.  Its last position is that we all work 30 additional minutes without compensation Our last position is that we work 30 minutes with compensation, but that our schools also remain open for an additional three hours with an array of outside providers to work with students who need help, on both academic subjects and enrichment activities. An extension of the school day to better mirror the typical work day of many of our parents would be a real plus. We would gladly be part of this after-school activity should an individual school want to include academic support services.
