Contract Negotiations Resume: Performance Evaluations a Focus
Negotiations with the city and school department resume. Progress has been slow. Key items being discussed are performance evaluation (both process and instrument), professional development, peer assistance and review, and some other related topics.
While we negotiate over performance evaluation, the MA DESE is poised to release its default guidelines for marrying student test data to teacher evaluation sometime in February. We will keep you posted.
The Aftermath and Fallout on School Closings
Shortly the BTU and the Boston School Department will sit down to discuss, in impact negotiations, the assignment rights of staff in schools that will be closed, moved, or ‘merged’
