Much has been written during the Wisconsin fight about public employees, whether they make too much or too little and so on. National surveys show the public employees are typically underpaid, after accounting for demographics, educational level attained, and the like.
Now there’s a local survey from Mass Budget & Policy that confirms all of the above: Public employees are underpaid. The Globe ran a good column on this, particularly the pension aspect, over the weekend.
The BTU contributes to Mass Budget, and we thank them for their work. Mass Budget also did a piece on demystifying our pension system.
