Education Week released its annual national report, which is worth a read. WBUR published their analysis of the report:

Massachusetts has the best public school system in the country but could do more to help low-income students, according to a new report that ranks states by the quality of their public schools.

Education Week’s annual national report, Quality Counts, gave Massachusetts the top spot because it has the nation’s top fourth- and eighth-grade reading and math scores, high postsecondary degree attainment and rising AP test scores.

Massachusetts has ranked No. 1 every year since the index began in 2008.
