The Richard J. Murphy School in Neponset has been named “Boston’s Best School of the Year” by the New England Sports Museum, which highlighted the Dorchester school at its 14th annual award show, “The Tradition,” last Wednesday, December 2 at the Boston Garden.
The Murphy participates in a program called Boston vs. Bullies, which teaches school kids to identify and combat bullying behavior. A banner promoting the anti-bullying effort is displayed on each floor of the Worrell Street school building.
“The banner here at the Murphy has become has become synonymous with bully prevention,” explains Michael Crowley, the field coordinator for the Murphy who brought the program to the school three years ago. “The Boston vs. Bullies program has been and will remain an instrumental tool here at the Murphy as we continue to create a culture of We and stand strong against bullying.”
Congratulations!
