The legislative session for Massachusetts ended late Tuesday night with a flurry of activity on several key pieces of legislation.

Just before midnight, time ran out on a new education funding bill. The bill would have updated the formula the state uses to determine how much money school districts get from the state.

The House and the Senate both passed bills to change the funding formula, but in the end, they could not reach a final compromise.
