‘U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren called out “Trump’s hand-picked Supreme Court” for clearing the way to deport “hard-working, legal immigrants into imminent danger in Haiti, Syria, and other war-torn and gang-controlled countries. It’s horrific and lawless.”

“This decision is a disaster for the rule of law and a disaster for thousands of families in Massachusetts,” she said.

Elizabeth Sweet, executive director of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, in a statement called striking down TPS “inhumane, immoral, and abhorrent.” She said forcing individuals to return to a dangerous country they’ve fled “will rip families and communities apart.”

She also said Haitian TPS holders “are critical to the makeup of our state and country, and this decision will be catastrophic for our state’s workforce and economy.”

The head of the Boston Teachers Union, Erik Berg, criticized the ruling as well, saying, “Our students cannot thrive when they are forced to wonder whether a parent will come home at the end of the day, or whether their family will be torn apart.” He added, “Today’s decision is heartbreaking for the thousands of Boston students whose families have built their lives in our communities, contributed to our economy, and enriched our classrooms.”‘
