Arts Committee Meeting with Dr. Chang: This Friday, June 3
DATE CHANGE: Calling all educators of the arts. The BTU Arts Committee will be meeting with superintendent Dr. Tommy Chang and other BPS arts leadership to talk about the future of the arts in our schools. Restorative Justice Organizing Committee PD Event (new date!)
DATE CHANGE: The Restorative Justice Organizing Committee will be hosting the sixth session of PDs, “Building Staff Relationships: Strategies for Community Building amongst Staff” tomorrow, Wednesday, June 1 from 4:30-6:30 PM at the McCormack School, 315 Mt. Vernon Street in Dorchester.

BTU Joins Save Our Public Schools Week of Action June 6-10
Building Reps will be receiving materials and details for the Week of Action this week at their schools. Please be sure to disseminate and share the materials before next week. Members can also sign up for Save our Public Schools (SOPS and download materials and information on the BTU website: www.btu.org/SOPS. Please help us to keep the cap on Commonwealth charters in November and keep funding for our public schools!

BSAC Invites Us to First Anniversary of their App’s Unveiling
Can you believe it’s been a full year since we launched the app? It is now fully functional in its new format and has new features, including reporting Code of Conduct and equity concerns. On June 6 we will celebrate the new version of the App with a Launch Party as well as highlight BSAC campaigns and projects as the final product of their credit-bearing extended learning opportunity.

LGBTQ Committee Arts Contest Results
We would like to thank all of the students that has submitted artwork for our Safe Space Provider contest. All of the pieces were great and we really wish we could have awarded every entry! Boston Pride Walk: June 11
GLAD and the BTU LGBTQA+ committee invite you to walk with us in the Boston Pride Parade on Saturday, June 11 from 12-3 PM at Copley square, near the Copley Station. Register to attend and find more information. When you register, please provide your t-shirt size and indicate in the question box if you are a BPS teacher. We plan to provide BTU stickers for our members to wear.
