Betsy DeVos Rescinds Documents Outlining Rights for Students with Disabilities: Petition

Last week the US Education Department, under Betsy DeVos, rescinded 72 policy documents that outline the rights of students with disabilities as part of the Trump administration’s effort to eliminate regulations it deems superfluous. Read more from the Chicago Tribune.

The Network for Public Education has started a petition to call on US senators to remind Betsy DeVos that students with disabilities have rights and to push her to reinstate federal protections. Sign the petition today.

TPS Rally Oct 2017

BTU Members Rally to Save TPS

BTU President Jessica Tang spoke in solidarity with students, families, and members–particularly those from Haiti, El Salvador, and Honduras–who could be impacted by the end of Temporary Protected Status.

BTU members joined community, labor, faith, immigrant rights and civil rights activists on Friday night at a vigil and rally to call upon Governor Baker and other elected leaders to stand up against a pending Trump decision that would tear apart families, including those of close to 8,000 immigrants in Massachusetts, thousands in Boston alone.
