BTU Winter Conference this Saturday!
Please join us this Saturday, February 27 from 9-3:30. Come learn and ask questions about all the issues directly affecting public education today including: our contract campaign, the BPS budget cuts, charter ballot initiative, the Friedrichs Supreme Court case, starting a Faculty Senate, using Google Apps for organizing, among many more topics!
Special guest Jeannie Kaplan, a former school board member and parent from Denver, will speak at 1:30 PM. She will be sharing lessons learned from education reform efforts in Denver and share parallels and insights into current reform models being initiated in Boston.

Focus Groups to Author BPS ELL Master Plan
OELL Is writing its first ever English Language Learner (ELL) Master Plan for the Boston Public Schools. Goals include how to implement instruction and accountability structures for ELL programs; services to ELL students, ELL students with disabilities, SLIFE, Dual Lang, FLEP students; focus on ELL family engagement in the District.
This will be a published document that needs input from all stakeholders in the District. If you are interested, please email Kim Tsai from OELL and BTU organizer Jonathan Rodrigues. Please include the phrase “ELL Master Plan” in the subject line.

Boston Education Justice Alliance Meeting
Join our student, parent and community coalition for the regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, February 25 from 6-8 PM at Academy Home Estates, 2908 Washington Street in JP. We will be debriefing the Walk-In and Rally for Public Ed and planning next steps!
