FRIDAY — 2019 Climate Strike
People around the world will strike to demand action on the climate crisis. Join thousands at Boston City Hall Plaza to kick off a week of climate actions! This event is youth led and community supported. Find out more on Facebook and join the BTU Climate Justice organizing committee!

SATURDAY — Sixth Annual BTU Back To School Fair
Our Sixth Annual BTU Back to School Fair for BPS families will be held from 1:00-4:00pm at the BTU and Carson Beach! Educators, please sign up for First Book for free and reduced price books. Visit firstbook.org/aft to sign up so that you can receive free books at the fair, too.

Unafraid Educators Meeting: September 23

Restorative Justice Organizing Committee Meeting: September 24
The meeting will take place from 4:30-6:30pm at the BTU. Light dinner will be served. Please RSVP with Natalia at ncuadrasaez@btu.org.

NEW — A Retirement+ (TARP) information and update meeting: September 26
The meeting will take place at 4:30pm at the BTU. We will detail recent actions, results and formulating next steps. The R+/TARP option was an accelerated retirement option available to teachers, school nurses, and related services providers in 2001. Light refreshments will be served. Committee on Unassigned Teachers Meeting: October 16

Fall Leadership Conference: October 18-20
The 2019 Fall Leadership Conference will be held at the Dedham Hilton. All BTU Building Reps and Member Leaders are encouraged to attend. Download a flyer for posting and please RSVP on our website.

BTU Blood Drive: October 23
The BTU will hold a blood drive from 1:00-6:00pm. Please consider donating and spread the word. The blood drive is open to the public! Email Colleen Hart at chart@btu.org with any questions.

New Performance Evaluation Platform
EDFS has been replaced by a new online platform. The BTU and BPS reached an agreement about the impact of the new Teachpoint platform, particularly with regard to training all educators. The BTU insisted on all members being provided the opportunity within their regular workday and year to be trained, and the BPS agreed. Please see the Memorandum of Agreement, and call your field rep with questions.
