NEW — Guidance Counselors Meeting: Tuesday, March 27
Please join us from 4:30-6:30 PM at BTU. Guidance Counselors deserve to have nationally recognized case load standards. We need more counselors in our schools to provide mental health services, restorative circles and conflict resolution, as well as programs that promote leadership and empowerment. Seeking Phone Bank Volunteers this Week
The BTU is looking for phone bank volunteers this week to support our campaign with Raise Up Massachusetts. Our coalition supports the Fair Share Tax Amendment, paid family medical leave, and raising the minimum wage. Please email Johnny McInnis or call him at 617-288-2000 to volunteer.

Testing Charade Author Speaks in Boston: March 22
Come hear Daniel Koretz, author of The Testing Charade: Pretending to Make Schools Better, on Thursday, March 22 at the Church on the Hill, 140 Bowdoin Street in Boston. Refreshments begin at 5:30, program from 6-8:30. Read more and register.

March for Our Lives
The BTU is proud to be an official co-sponsor of the March for Our Lives. We are mailing stickers for upcoming actions this week to our Building Reps to be distributed to members. For the March 14 action, please work with your administrators to develop school plans and activities. See BPS guidance for March 14. If you need to leave the school for an extended period of time, please use a personal day. We will also be making posters for the March 24 March for our Lives Boston after our membership meeting on March 14.

Women’s History Month
The BTU will be holding our annual Women’s Rights Breakfast on Saturday, March 31 from 9:30-11:30am at Florian Hall. We are proud to honor City Councilor Anissa Essabi-George, a former BTU member and now the Chair of the City Council Education Committee, as well as Senator Pat Jehlen, a steadfast supporter of public education and teachers. Read more details on the flyer.
