The Boston School Committee voted to take a position in support of the No on 2 Campaign last Wednesday. The vote was unanimous, and it is much appreciated by those who believe that the BPS offers the best and only hope for the maintenance of good, quality, and truly public education in the city. Currently our city and schools lose more than $150 million to selective Commonwealth charters each year. If enacted, the referendum would drain double or triple that amount over the next decade.
