We have important updates on the implementation of our new contract. We are finally able to share more details regarding the pay adjustments and many other provisions. As previously shared, the general wage increase should be reflected on the December 9 paycheck this week. The retroactive back pay for 9/1/2021-11/17/22 will be issued in a separate check no later than the paycheck date of January 20, 2023. We are still advocating that it be done as soon as possible, and before January 20.

We also have updates from BPS on the Hub Schools Coordinators Salary Group Transition, the Family Liaison Salary Group Transition, JD Salary Lane Change (although a process has not yet been finalized), Adult Education Salary Group Transition, Para Service Credit Review, Inside Service Credit Review for Provisional Teachers.

In addition, as shared previously, the district has already completed the following:

  • Updating the calendar to reflect Columbus Day and Juneteenth
  • Updating access to new religious holidays in the ESS drop down menu
  • “Front-loading” the sick leave for cluster/building substitutes
  • Implemented the parental leave policy
For details on all of the above, please visit this summary from BPS. This Google Doc will be updated when new information becomes available. We will continue to work with the district on the implementation of all other provisions of our contract and outstanding items and will give updates as soon as we are able to.
