Tomorrow, we have the chance to take a big step towards creating the schools our #StudentsDeserve. BTU members are asked to come to tomorrow’s membership meeting at the BTU at 4:30pm to vote on the ratification of the tentative contract agreement.
View the membership agenda. To access the full tentative agreement and summary, log into the member portal or visit the btu website.
If you have questions, please submit them here. We will address questions at the meeting. The contract presentation will begin no earlier than 5:00pm and the votes will take place following Q&A and deliberations. Please remember to bring your membership card and ID for easy entry! (There will be a help desk for those who need a card.) Remember to request child care if you need it.
While this agreement does not meet all of our aspirations, we do believe it will address many of the priorities that the BTU has made central to its contract campaign and will result in significant improvements for our educators, students and schools.

Thank you to our Elections Committee on all their hard work that went into last week’s union election. Congratulations are due to all of the newly elected and re-elected leaders and we commend all who ran-from delegate to full time staff. Our union is stronger because of everyone’s participation and involvement.
Want to learn how to organize your school and community for change? Want to become more involved in the fight for public education? Join us this summer at the BTU Summer Organizing Institute and apply to become a Summer Organizing Leader!
Finally, we were thrilled to participate in Boston Pride this past weekend, joined by so many of our friends and colleagues from the Boston Public Schools. Together we are commited to a learning and working environment where #EveryoneIsWelcome.
