As we notified you in this morning’s eBulletin, former BTU President Kathy Kelley passed away on Sunday, August 13. Kathy served as BTU President from 1979-1983 and was our first woman president. She also served as President of the American Federation of Teachers Massachusetts from 1993 until her retirement in 2006. She will be sorely missed.

Service Information

Kathy’s wake will be held this Thursday, August 17 from 4-8 PM at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester’s Lower Mills, 02124. Get directions.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, August 18 at St. Gregory Church, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, 02124. Please plan to join us for a reception at the BTU Hall following internment at the Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline.
